![]() Leading him into tightly-packed forests (Usually Dark Pine forests work best) is ideal as his abilities are squandered in sparce areas. Using Bearger in this fashion is relatively straightfoward. Try to avoid having him step on too many trees, as you will lose a number of resources. Small Warning: If Bearger walks over a tree, the tree is smashed but only gives 1 log. However, while the swipe attack can only target one tree at a time, the smash attack acts more like a Old Bell Lite, uprooting a number of trees in the nearby area. Both attacks will also dig up the stumps of the tree for you. The most obvious benefit to him, of course, is his abilities to inadvertantly be a better lumberjack than Woodie could dream of being.īearger's two attacks, both the swipe and smash attacks, are capable of felling trees. Now that we understand the basics of what the Bearger is, it's time to use him to our advantage. Keep this in mind while using Bearger- it may be wise to wear sanity boosting items to have a positive boost to your sanity while running from Bearger, and sanity restoring foodstuffs will be extremely beneficial in mitigating this aura over a long period of time. Insanity Aura- This aura is present on all monsters, but insanity auras are especially present on giants, which cause massive drops while next to or near them. ![]() On roads, you run equal to Bearger's speed, and with a walking cane on roads can outrun him slightly. This means that normally, Bearger will consistently catch up to you, leaving little time for breaks. As far as I know, the base movement speed of the player is ~4. To put that in perspective, that's faster than a spider moves, and twice as fast as Deerclops. Speed- What we care about is Bearger's aggression speed, of 6. You can get in 1-2 hits between each attack, but be careful as he will immediately swipe following the "smash". Bearger will swipe 3 times, before doing his "smash" attack. It isn't recommended that you take him head-on unless you are extremely experienced and don't want to use him anymore. It is important to remember that when trying to use the Bearger effectively.Īttack Period- This is the delay between attacks by Bearger. Despite the menacing size of the shockwave, you need to understand that it has the same range as a swipe attack. This is important to note beacuse Bearger has two attacks: a swipe attack, and a "smash" attack where he appears to do a ground pound of sorts, sending out a huge shockwave. To put it in perspective, he has the same attack range of a Spider. It's also worth noting that Bearger's attacks will knock whatever you are holding out of your hand- putting you in serious risk if you are holding a torch at night.Īttack Range- This simply means how far his attack reaches. While he does do a significant amount of damage armorless, something as simple as a Log Suit will reduce his damage dealt to a measly 20- a suit of Dark Armor means he's barely scratching you with 5 damage. Like a few other giants (Like Deerclops), Bearger does significantly more damage to mobs than he does to the player. What this means is that Bearger has one of the highest amounts of health in the game, shared with Moose/Goose and surpassed only by Dragonfly and the Ancient Guardian.ĭamage- The damage stats of Bearger are a tad complicated. To put it in perspective, it would take 178 hits from a spear to kill (~2 full health spears), 118 hits from a tentacle spike (~1.1 full health tentacle spikes), 90 hits from a dark sword(~1 full health dark sword), or 30 piles of gunpowder. Bearger in Don't Starve Together has 2x the health of a "normal" Bearger. So, we have the stats, but what do they mean? ![]() Insanity Aura: -100/min (While passive), -400/min(While aggressive) Speed: 3 (While passive), 6 (While aggressive) To do this, we can turn to the wiki for some stats: Before we can adequetly discuss how to use the Bearger to our advantage, it's exceptionally importnat that we understand what kind of power we're dealing with.
